Mark McGrath, 46, is the latest celebrity to fall victim to a death hoax. Mark McGrath Death Hoax — Sugar Ray Singer Speaks Out On Twitter
Mark put the rumors to rest after news broke that he had passed away after a marketing agency released that he had died on the set of his show Hot Package by taking to Twitter to prove that he is alive.
In his tweet to his fans, Mark seems less than thrilled — and we can’t blame him — and did reveal that he actually had no prior knowledge that the hoax would be happening and found out at the same time as his concerned fans.

“McGrath . . . was confronted by a masked gunman and shot several times. The former Sugar Ray frontman died in the arms of his co-host Derrick Beckles on the Hollywood set of the show,” Us Weekly reports the press release said.”In honor of Mr. McGrath’s legacy, his team is asking in lieu of flowers, fans post a Sugar Ray Selfie, holding a packet of sugar over their heart.”
A spokesperson from Adult Swim — the channel that airs Hot Package — released a statement to HollywoodLife.com confirming that they were not behind the hoax.“This press release did not come from Adult Swim and is not part of any network PR or marketing campaign for the show Hot Package.”
