‘American Idol’: Malaya Watson Shouldn’t Have Been Sent Home

Courtesy of FOX

Malaya Watson was eliminated from ‘American Idol’ on the April 10 episode and not only was it the most heartbreaking thing to watch, but it was a total waste! The judges should have held their save for the more worthy and consistent Malaya than for the still great, but not as talented, Sam Woolf.

It’s no secret that I’m the Founder, President, and Treasurer of the Malaya Watson fan club, but it really was a waste that she got sent home last night. It’s kind of difficult to belabor the point since she’s gone — and it’s all America’s fault — and since there’s nothing we can do about it, but I’m gonna, anyway. Sam Woolf, 17, shouldn’t have been saved last week, and I knew that this would happen, that some other, more worthy, contestant would be sent home the following week in his place. Read on and and tell me if you agree! And send Malaya your good thoughts, because dang, she is just 16 and so, so talented.

‘American Idol’: Sam Woolf Shouldn’t Have Been Saved By The Judges

Courtesy of FOX

On the April 3 episode of ‘American Idol,’ Sam Woolf was saved from elimination by the judges after America’s vote landed him in the bottom. However, I’m not so sure that he deserved the coveted, once-a-season save — especially not so soon into the finals!

Before a pack of tweens come at me with pitchforks, let me explain: it’s not that I think that Sam Woolf, 17, isn’t talented, nor do I think that he doesn’t deserve to still be in the competition. However, I really don’t think that the judges should have used their one-time-only save on a contestant like Sam, whose performances have often been inconsistent. Furthermore, we’re only in the Top 8! The judges are sure to regret using their save so soon. Do you agree?
