How amazing. The ’20/20′ anchor returned to TV after two months in rehab on Jan. 24 to take the first step of her recovery: admitting that she was an alcoholic. And right after Elizabeth bravely owned up to her addiction, Twitter exploded with an overflow of support.
“I’m really proud of what I did,” Elizabeth Vargas told George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America on Jan. 24, referring to her decision to check herself into rehab for alcohol abuse. And she wasn’t the only one who was proud. Right after the 20/20 anchor’s revealing, first post-rehab interview, countless fans on Twitter sent her messages of love, support, and congratulations.

It is so inspiring to see the improvements Elizabeth has made in her life — and the bravery to not only check into rehab, but to then go back on TV and own the vice.
And it is even more uplifting to see so many people respond to Elizabeth’s story with words of encouragement and support. We can’t say we’re surprised, but it is amazing to see nonetheless.
