Meghan McCain (born Meghan Marguerite McCain on Oct. 23, 1984 in Phoenix, Arizona) is a columnist, author, former Fox News host and contributor, blogger and newly announce co-host on The View. She is the famous daughter of U.S. Senator John McCain and first rose to prominence back in 2007 for her blog, McCain Blogette, on which she documented life on her father’s campaign trail, and her own personal interests. She has been a contributor for The Daily Beast and MSNBC. In the fall of 2017 she left Fox News and signed on as the new conservative co-host of The View.

Meghan was raised by her father Senator McCain and her mother Cindy Hensley McCain and is the oldest of the couple’s four children. Meghan attended Columbia University and graduated with a degree in art history and planned to become a music journalist. She has written about how her father’s 2008 presidential campaign killed her romantic life. “I am not only turned off by people who voted for Barack Obama, but I am also turned off by people that voted for my dad…or more so, obsessive supporters of my dad,” she wrote in The Daily Beast.
