Peter Parker has two very important prerequisites — according to newly released emails from the infamous Sony hack. New leaked corporate messages appear to show that execs from the company made it a mandatory requirement that Spider-Man be white and straight.
A lot of jaw-dropping bombshells came out of all those leaked Sony emails in 2014. The latest revelation? Yep, it includes requirements for his race and sexual orientation. Read on for all the shocking details!

To be honest, we’re still reeling from the news that Andrew Garfield, 31, won’t be returning as Spider-Man, but this news about the next revamp of the superhero has us excited! This is awesome. The Marvel franchise has just confirmed that Gwen Stacy, who died in the Marvel universe over 40 years ago, will make a comeback. The announcement has us wondering, does this mean Emma Stone will appear in future ‘Spider-Man’ films?
Girls really can do anything that boys can do! As fans know, in the Marvel universe, Gwen Stacy (played in the most recent Spider-Man films by Emma Stone) was killed back in 1973 during a battle with the Green Goblin. However, thanks to an alternate universe, Gwen will take on her own spider powers and become Spider-Gwen in a brand new comic. Does this mean a film adaptation with Emma attached is to follow?

This could be major! After years of exclusion, Spider-Man might finally be joining the Marvel universe! But will Spidey star Andrew Garfield reprise his role?

So, what does this mean for Spidey in the Marvel franchise and does that mean Andrew Garfield is exiting the films for good? We’ve got all the details on the newly formed partnership!
I saw the Spider-Man musical — which is the talk of Broadway for all the wrong reasons – and trust me when I say you should do anything you can to see this Broadway spectacular!
Surrounded by technical issues, stuntman injuries and costly delays, the upcoming Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark may have put a bad taste in many people’s mouths. However, after seeing a preview performance Dec. 29, I can tell you the show’s imagination, outside the box thinking and flying Spider-Man fun is a complete joy for anyone spending a night on Broadway!
The latest tragedy — a performer fell 30 feet — should be last straw for this problem-filled production!
The problems just keep coming for the ‘upcoming’ Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. After a string of troubled performances, poor buzz and increasing budget woes, a massive injury Dec. 20 should be the nail in the coffin for the show.
The New York Post reports stunt double Christopher Tierney was the latest victim of the stunt-filled spectacle, where a fall due to a faulty rope left the aerialist with broken ribs and internal bleeding.
Early reports say Spidey’s Broadway debut needs a lot of work before it’s ready for the public.
With a budget of more than $65 million, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is the most expensive show in Broadway history — and it also might be the most flawed. The Julie Taymor-directed musical had its first preview performance Nov. 28, and although the high-flying acrobatics left young theater-goers enthralled, The New York Times reports that the show was marred with mistakes and actually stopped five times throughout its run of more than three hours.
My prediction: It’s time to press the “Like” button! If you enjoy watching films that are completely relevant to today’s world and have some of the hottest men in Hollywood, you will LOVE this movie about the creation of Facebook!
When David Fincher makes a film, whether it be Seven, Fight Club or The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, you are in for a pretty intense and enjoyable movie-going experience. If you expected a film about Facebook to be all about boring status updates, think again! (Plus, as an added bonus, you see Justin Timberlake with his shirt off!)Read more
Are you bummed to see this Spider-Man franchise end, too?
The end of the Spider-Man franchise doesn’t just mark the end of Tobey Maguire‘s turn as the high-flying web slinger — it also marks the end of Kirsten Dunst‘s journey as Spider-Man’s redheaded beauty, Mary Jane! “It made me sad but I think that [director Sam Raimi] was ready to move on,” Kirsten told HollywoodLife.com exclusively Jan. 16 at The Art of Elysium’s Third Annual Black Tie Charity Gala. “I respect that decision, and we did it for ten years now, so that’s been a long time and we’re all like very close. I’m excited to see what Sony turns it into next.” Read more & vote!
Do you agree that no one can rock that famous red and blue spandex suit like Tobey does?
If you’re worried about who’s going to fill his webbed shoes now that Tobey Maguire, 34, is out as Spider-Man, you’re not the only one. Even Sam Raimi, who directed all three Spidey films, has a hard time picturing another actor taking Tobey’s place!
“I’m such a fan of Tobey’s. It’s hard for me to ever imagine anyone else in that role,” Sam, 50, told HollywoodLife.com exclusively Jan. 14 at the LA premiere of his Starz series Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
Can you picture anyone else playing Peter Parker besides Tobey?
It’s pretty impossible to imagine someone besides Tobey Maguire in the role of Spider-Man. After all, the 34-year-old has been playing the webbed hero since 2001. But unfortunately for all you fans, you’re going to have to accept that Tobey’s run is over.
Sony Pictures announced Jan. 11 that Spider-Man 4 is a no-go and when the popular film franchise is up and running again, Peter Parker will be played as a teenager.
