This is just heartbreaking. Alexis Arquette passed away on the morning of Sept. 11 and Patricia Arquette is paying tribute to the life of her sister, fellow actress, and ‘first best friend,’ by posting her favorite songs on Twitter. Read on to see the beautiful way Patricia is honoring Alexis’ life.
Patricia Arquette, 48, paid tribute to the life of her sister and her “first best friend,” Alexis Arquette, via Twitter on Sept. 11, the morning of her death, by tweeting some of Alexis’ favorite songs. Patricia first tweeted T. Rex’s “Cosmic Dancer,” adding the caption, “To My first best friend — Cosmic Dancer,” following it up with David Bowie’s “Starman,” captioning it, “Breaking through the veil with StarMan.” Patricia and her sister were very close, and that is evident by the sweet messages she’s sending off to the 47-year-old transgender actress now that she has passed.

Patricia was not the only one of Alexis’ siblings to show their love for her on social media, with her brother Richmond Arquette sharing the news of her death via Facebook that morning. “Our brother Robert, who became our brother Alexis, who became our sister Alexis, who became our brother Alexis, passed this morning September 11, at 12:32 am. He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, one of his nieces and several other loved ones. We were playing music for him and he passed during David Bowie’s Starman. As per his wishes, we cheered at the moment that he transitioned to another dimension,” Richmond wrote on Facebook.
It must have been heartbreaking for the Arquette family to watch their loved one pass on, but if it helped them all to have Alexis’ favorite music playing in the background, then we find that absolutely beautiful. Our hearts go out to Patricia and the rest of the Arquette family in this difficult time.
