Ayesha Curry voiced an opinion about ladies’ style on Twitter that really rubbed some people the wrong way. Her #saturdaynightinsight on classy vs. trendy didn’t go over well, but was she really trying to ruffle feathers with her statement? Click through to see the tweets!
Through several tweets on the night of December 5, Ayesha Curry, wife to NBA MVP Stephen Curry, professed her preference for classy clothes over trendy outfits, as she chooses to “keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters.” While Ayesha was stating her opinion, it was apparently the wrong one, to some of her followers. They totally lashed out at her on Twitter! Read on to see what they said!
To Ayesha, modest is apparently hottest. In a series of tweets, she casually talked about how she liked wearing “classy” clothes over “trendy” ones. She was apparently reading a style magazine while penning the tweets, and was shocked by the barely-there outfits in style right now. It’s not for her — she likes keeping covered up!
“Everyone’s into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style. I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters,” Ayesha tweeted. “Just looking at the latest fashion trends. I’ll take classy over trendy any day of the week. #saturdaynightinsight. And all I’m doing is sitting here reading a style weekly. You guys definitely entertain me that’s for sure.”
While she had some supportive followers who commended her penchant for modest clothing, the overwhelming response was negative. “Sounds as if Ayesha Curry thinks her body/other women’s bodies are like consumer goods marketed exclusively for use by men, or something,” one follower wrote. “Reading what Ayesha Curry said & thinking that’s nice..but there’s STILL a man somewhere who STILL called you a h*e at some pt #ItJustIs,” another woman said. There are many, many more. Some women pointed out that men were verbally attacking those who disagreed with Ayesha. Gross!
