Lamar Odom: Dwyane Wade Praying For His Bro — ‘He’s Gone Through So Much’

A devastated Dwyane Wade couldn’t sleep knowing his bro Lamar Odom was fighting for his life. The distraught NBA star took to Twitter to pray for his former Miami Heat teammate, who’s already gone through such incredible hardship.

Dwyane Wade, 33, started tweeting late on October 13, unable to fall sleep while knowing his close friend, Lamar Odom, 35, was lying in a hospital bed after an alleged overdose. Dwyane passionately told the world about his hopes for Lamar’s health, and his deep prayers for Lamar’s safety.

In a series of tweets that continued into the morning of October 14, poor Dwyane was inconsolable as he talked about his friend Lamar, who was found allegedly unconscious and unresponsive in his room at Dennis Hof‘s Love Ranch on the afternoon of October 13. Lamar was hooked to a respirator, and allegedly suffered immense brain damage; he reportedly had crack cocaine in his system, as well as track marks on his arms.

How truly awful! Dwayne loves his friend dearly, and couldn’t stand hearing that he was going through something so horrifying. Like LeBron James, 30, Dwyane further defended his ex-teammate from those trying to judge him for his addictions. To Dwyane, people need to stop thinking they can even imagine what Lamar has experienced without living it firsthand.

Lamar has endured unimaginable heartache throughout his entire life. His six-month-old son Jayden died of SIDs (sudden infant death syndrome) in 2006, a brutal pain that can never be forgotten. In 2015, Lamar’s lifelong best friend, Jamie Sangouthai, died of necrotizing fasciitis due to prolonged heroin usage. His other close friend, Bobby Heyward, passed away a week later from an alleged drug overdose. Dwyane has recognized his bro’s hardship and is now praying he finds some kind of peace.

Our thoughts are with Lamar and his loved ones at this time.
