We’ve all heard of girls obtaining the perfect revenge body when they suddenly become single, but is Bella Hadid, 19, taking it too far? Fans online seem to think the supermodel is looking a little too skinny these days, as showcased in her latest campaign with Nike. The biggest problem people seem to have with Bella’s ad is that she doesn’t look like an athlete because of her frail frame and the fact that you can see her ribcage. Nike as a brand is also being slammed for “endorsing eating disorders” and “promoting anorexia.”
What ever happened to putting athletes as the face of athletic brands? Nike might have lost a customer by putting Bella Hadid as their face.

.@Nike bella hadid? since when did nike sellout and start sponsoring models? the nike I grew up w/ empowered the world's most elite athletes

Yeah @Nike let's make @bellahadid the new face of Nike not a hard working athlete.

.@YolandaHFoster defending Bella for @nike is useless. She's not an athlete NOW, is rail thin & you let her do so much facial surgery #fake

never buying @Nike again after they chose rail thin, plastic surgery obsessed @bellahadid as their model #notanathlete #notarealgirl

In a truly shocking turn of events, Nike signing Bella Hadid has turned into Nike endorsing eating disorders because "Bella is too skinny"🙄🙄

.@Nike sponsoring Bella is disappointing. Sends the message young girls need to be skinny instead of empowering them to be elite athletes.

I'll take the one promoted by the athlete please 💪🏼 pic.twitter.com/MRe1baOBtX

Another person who isn’t happy is Olympian Meryl Davis, who wrote a bitter Twitter message of her own making fun of Bella and Kylie Jenner‘s partnership with Puma. The professional ice dancer made a collage (see above) and captioned it, “I’ll take the one promoted by the athlete please.” Proud mama bear Yolanda Foster immediately jumped to her daughter’s aid, claiming Bella used to be equestrian rider with Olympic dreams from the ages of 3-15 until she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Bella’s illness forced her to quit riding competitively.
It’s interesting timing that people are calling out Bella’s weight loss so close to her breakup from The Weeknd. The adorable couple split to due conflicting schedules, and on top of that, she must be under a lot of stress preparing for the Victoria Secret‘s fashion show. A source EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com that the brunette beauty and older sis Gigi Hadid are “on edge” at the big event approaches. There’s a little big of a sisterly rivalry going on, as neither stunner wants to be out shined on the runway!
HollywoodLifers, do you agree with the fans — is Bella too skinny in the Nike ad?
