Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei announced on Aug. 6 that she’s taking a break from Twitter after racist remarks made by ‘fans’, and Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui and more of Normani’s bandmates have stepped up to support their girl. Check out their tweets right here!
Normani Kordei, 20, was the victim of racist remarks on social media after she apparently “shaded” Camila Cabello, 19 (though Camila has debunked this rumor), and she decided to quit Twitter as a result. Now, her sisters in arms have come forward to defend Normani from the haters. “Normani is like a sister to me and when I saw her mother crying because of things people were saying about her daughter…I was appalled,” Lauren Jauregui, 20, tweeted on Aug. 7.
“We as a group have promoted nothing but love since our birth; all five of us strive to represent peace and love and the spreading of good vibes. Racism is something that not one of us tolerate. [It’s] a product of ignorance and systematic oppression and we stand for peace and love and equality,” she added. Well said, Lauren!
“You don’t have to hate on somebody else to support me- I don’t appreciate it and it’s not what I’m about.. Be kind or move on,” Camila tweeted, addressing fans who claimed their racist remarks towards Normani were justified because they were sticking up for Camila. “I stand by the words “love only”, meaning I won’t tolerate on my timeline any kind of hate, racism, or discrimination towards ANYONE. period,” she added. Dinah Jane, 19, agreed: “Do not take your time to hate. Take your time to love. It will always go farther.” So true!

HollywoodLifers, are you appalled that Normani was bullied like that? Tell us if you’re glad the rest of 5H is supporting her.
