It’s Canada Day, when the world celebrates the Great White North! Some of the country’s biggest stars – including Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes and their hunky Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau – joined in the celebration. Click to see!
Oh, Canada! The United States’ wonderful neighbor to the north is celebrating Canada Day, its 149th birthday, and plenty of stars are helping the country throw the best party ever! Celebs like Stephen Amell, 35, William Shatner, 85, and Justin Bieber, 22, all made sure to show Canadian pride. They weren’t the only ones so click to see them all!
The Biebs kicked off the July 1 bash with his patriotic themed emoji. A cartoon Justin posed with the Canadian flag, reminding all that the “Sorry” singer hails from London, Ontario. He wasn’t the only singer celebrating, as Shawn Mendes, 17, got in on the love for his country.
“Happy Canada Day,” electronica superstar Deadmau5, 35, wrote. “Fireworks time!” Arrow’s Stephen Amell author Margaret Atwood, 76, also celebrated, wishing their Canadian fans a Happy Canada Day! Even Americans got in on the action, as Andy Richter, 49, posted a picture of legendary Canadian folk singer, Gordon Lightfoot, 77. Blasting Canadian music is definitely one way to get into the Canada spirit. Today is definitely the day to crank the music from bands like The Tragically Hip.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 44, arguably the biggest celeb in Canada (and the country’s most favorite Justin – sorry Biebs) made sure to send his regards to allCanadians. “Today, as we celebrate our nation’s birthday, let’s also celebrate our diversity,” he said. “It united in the past, it binds us together today and it’s at the very heart of our future’s success.”

Now, any Canadian would be proud to explain that Canada Day is the anniversary of the Constitution Act. This legislation united three British Colonies – Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Providence of Canada – into the country we know and love as Canada. It was originally called Dominion Day until 1982. That year, Canada achieved sovereignty! So, if you know or run into a Canadian, be sure to wish them a Happy Birthday today!
