The world has lost one iconic singer. David Bowie has sadly passed away at the age of 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer. Celebrities like Harry Styles, Kanye West, Pharrell and more headed to social media to grieve the loss of their idol.
His official website released the following statement announcing his death: “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”
The singer, who had just celebrated his 69th birthday on Jan. 8, had countless hit songs, including “Space Oddity,” “Heroes, “Changes,” “Fame” and more. He released 25 albums over the course of his career and many iconic videos. He was an inspiration to all and will be missed by fans and celebrities alike.
