Princess Charlotte (born Charlotte Elizabeth Diana — in London, England, on May 2, 2015) is the Princess of Cambridge. As the first daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, she is fourth in the line of succession to the British throne, after her father, her older brother, Prince George and grandfather, Prince Charles. The “Second Royal Baby” was born at 8:34 a.m in the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington. It was less than 11 hours later that she made her first public appearance as a newborn when she left the hospital with her parents on the same day. Her name honors multiple people in her family. Charlotte is her Aunt Pippa Middleton‘s middle name, and it’s also the female version of Charles — her grandfather’s name. Elizabeth, comes from her great grandmother — Queen Elizabeth II, and the biggest part, was her tribute to her late grandmother, Princess Diana (William’s mother) who was killed in a car accident on August 31, 1997.
