Huma Abedin (born Huma Mahmood Abedinon July 28, 1976 in Kalamazoo, Michigan) is an American political staffer. When she was 2-years-old, she and her family moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where she lived until returning to the United States for college. Huma attended British girl’s school, enrolling at George Washington University to attend a Bachelor’s degree in Art. While in school, she interned in President Bill Clinton’s administration, assigned to then-First Lady Hillary Clinton. From 1996 to 2008, she was also the assistant editor of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs. Huma became Hillary’s personal advisor during her successful 2000 U.S. Senate campaign. She is also considered a trusted advisor to Hillary on foreign affairs. When Hillary was appointed as Secretary of State, Huma was given the role of deputy chief of staff, an arrangement created by the department that allowed Huma to work with private clients while also serving the Secretary of the State. During this time, she also worked for Teneo, a consulting firm with clients such as Coca-Cola and MF Global. After Hillary left the State Department in 2013, Huma continued to work with the Clinton Foundation.

Personal Life:
In 2010, Huma married then-Congressman Anthony Weiner, with former President Bill Clinton performing the wedding ceremony. In December 2011, they welcomed their first child, a son named Jordan Zain Weiner. She stood by Anthony as he resigned from Congress in 2011, after it was revealed he had carried on a sexting scandal. A second sexting scandal happened in 2013, sinking Anthony’s NYC Mayoral election campaign. After a third scandal, in 2016, featured a picture of an aroused Anthony posing near his sleeping 5-year-old son, Huma announced her separation from her husband.
