Among the many celebs who reached out, Martin Lawrence must have felt a certain kind of duty to pay homage to his former co-star because they shared such a strong friendship. The Bad Boys actor worked alongside Tommy for FIVE YEARS while shooting Martin from 1992 – 1997. Martin posted two sweet messages on social media, in which he calls Tommy his “big brother.” So sweet!
Tommy was rushed to an Atlanta hospital on Oct. 9 after an aneurysm ruptured in his stomach. Just three days later, the actor’s wife, Gina Sasso, explained to TMZ that he was put on life support, and that there was a very slim chance of him making it through the night. Sadly, that prediction came true mere hours after he was put on life support. Shortly after, Tommy’s family released this official statement — “It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Son, father, brother, husband, and friend Tommy Mykhal Ford. Please respect the privacy of the Ford family during our time of grief.”
