Look who’s back! Almost a year after Brian Williams was kicked off of ‘NBC News’ for telling false Iraq stories, the veteran anchor will return to the news program for the first time on Dec. 15. Fans are not thrilled, with some calling Brian a ‘sham,’ a ‘liar’ and a phony! Click to see.
Thanks for keeping the seat warm, Lester Holt, 56, because Brian Williams is back. The 56-year-old newscaster will finally return to NBC News after nearly a year away. But Brian’s homecoming hasn’t been welcomed with open arms, as some called him “America’s velvet voiced liar!”
Brian will briefly fill in for Lester on Dec. 15, reporting on the terrorist threat that closed all of Los Angeles’s schools, reports The Daily Beast. This will be the first time Brian has been on NBC News since he was suspended for six months over his multiple embellishments on his Iraq War reporting. After serving his suspension, Brian returned to television in September, covering Pope Francis’s U.S. visit for MSNBC.
When news broke that Brian was going back to NBC, not everyone was thrilled. Even though Brian apologized for his out of control “ego,” many hadn’t forgotten or forgiven the multiple times he “bent” the truth. When one fan heard of his return, they said Brian will continue “to lie and fabricate stories that only happened in his mind.”
Some, of course, made fun of Brian’s past tendency for exaggeration. One imagined he would talk about how he was there with President Lincoln, and provided photo evidence! Another person imagined that when Brian talked about the L.A. school shooting, he’ll claim to have seen “the backpack, and the bomb” himself.
We just can't get rid of that pesky Brian Williams!

Brian Williams, America's velvet-voiced liar, is back in the saddle apparently. So he's got that going for him.

Brian Williams : I saw the backpack, and the bomb. The threat was real. I know. I carried it to the school myself. #LAUSD

Brian Williams returns to the sham that is NBC to continue to lie and fabricate stories that only happened in his mind.

Other people were more forgiving of Brian. One person said they were glad he was back, while others suggested the GOP presidential candidates tend to tell “bigger lies” than Brian’s “every. single. day.” One user pointed out that Brian “faced the most punishment” over the lies about the Iraq War.
Out of all the people who lied about the Iraq war, Brian Williams has faced the most punishment.

Seeing him trending requires me to declare how much I unabashedly love Brian Williams! The man is a legend #TeamBriWi

Whether fans love him or hate him, they better not get used to seeing Brian in the seat. This is only a temporary change-up. Lester will be back when he’s feeling better. For now, Brian will anchor an “optional special report,” according to Variety, so Brian’s back for one night only!
What do you think about Brian Williams’ return, HollywoodLifers?
