Gwyneth Paltrow has been catching some flack for her strict diet for her family, but now the mother revealed that her son Moses, 6 and daughter, Apple, 8 indulge in sweets like everyone else!

Gwyneth’s Kids Love Oreos

“I tried to start them off with all of the right foods, but as they got older, the lure of Oreos and cotton candy outweighed the lure of carrots with hummus. And that’s all a part of childhood and I love Oreos too, so I completely understand,” the Oscar winner wrote in her GOOP newsletter on March 28.

“I try to make sure that what is on their plate at home is nutritious and tasty, and then I loosen way up on the reigns when we are out.”

Gwyneth’s Kids Indulge In One Coke A Week

The conscious mother tries to be fair in allowing the kids have treats like Coke soda once a week.

“They love a brown rice stir-fry, but they also love their ‘Coke of the week.’ My daughter gravitates toward fresh fruit and raw nuts, but will inhale a bag of hot Cheetos at the airport. It’s all about balance,” she added.

Experts Warned Gwyenth That Restricting Kids From Grains Is Dangerous

Gwyneth Claims That Gluten Is Bad

In Gwyneth’s book, she writes “Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across . . . seems to concur that (gluten) is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it.”
However, Jackie says this is not true!

“It is a gross overstatement of science as we know it,” she says. “Grains is for brains!” This is an old statement, but Jackie says it is very true. They are a source of magnesium, Vitamin E, antioxidants, and OMGEA 3 fatty acids. Wholesome whole grains also have fiber. Then she posed a very serious question.

“Where does she think her kids are going to get fiber? Vegetables?” The nutrition expert says it’s really hard to get the full source of fiber from vegetables alone. “I would never do that to my child, and I raised three.”

Avoiding Grains Is Discouraged

HollywoodLife.com also talked to pediatrician, Dr. Robert Hamilton, who also discourages avoiding grains.

“I feel it’s unnecessary really,” he says. All around the world, the foundation of people’s diets are carbohydrates and sugar. But what about the people who don’t like simple sugar like juice or Coke?

Gwenyth Paltrow has been vocal about her experience with fad diets, including the macrobiotic diet and a kale and lemon cleanse, but the married mom of two revealed that she’s passing on her diet obsession to her kids Apple, 8, and Moses, 6 — and doesn’t let them eat carbs!

In her new cookbook It’s All Good, which comes out in April, Gwenyth has a chapter about grains, but talks about them more as a poison than a nutritious food group.

“Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across . . . seems to concur that (gluten) is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it,” she writes in her new book.

“Sometimes when my family is not eating pasta, bread or processed grains like white rice, we’re left with that specific hunger that comes with avoiding carbs,” she added.

Gwyneth Paltrow Restricting Carbs Not Healthy For Kids

That reasoning, however, isn’t consistent with dietitians’ recommendations for growing kids. Public health nutritionist Yvonne Wake tells the Daily Mail that restricting carbs could be more harmful than helpful.

“I think it’s not a good idea,” she said. “Kids need carbohydrate because it gives them glycogen which keeps your brain going. Without it they won’t be able to think straight as their brain won’t be functioning and their thinking patterns will be slow.”

Even if Gwyneth doesn’t eat many grains herself, she should at least allow her kids to!

Grand dame Blythe Danner, 69, is Hollywood royalty. Mother to Gwyneth Paltrow and director Jake Paltrow, the actress talked to Hollywoodlife.com in an EXCLUSIVE interview about what it’s like helping raise her Oscar-winning daughter’s kids, and about how Coldplay’s Chris Martin wrote the heartbreaking anthem, Fix You, after the tragic passing of her husband.

Blythe has been a serious actress in Hollywood for decades. But away from the bright lights the still radiant star relishes the chance to be silly with Gwenyth’s kids.

“I don’t feel like a grandmother with them [Apple and Moses]. I get on my hands and knees and act like a complete fool! We have a lot of fun together,” the star told us.

Blythe spoke to us at the New York premier of her hilarious new coming-of-age comedy, Hello I Must Be Going. She plays an overburdened mother whose grown daughter moves back home to regroup after a tough divorce.

The actresses real life though isn’t likely to imitate art, “I don’t think Gwyneth would ever move back in, but of course if she wanted to.” Chris and the band are also apparently welcome, “I would love them next door, banging away on the drums, and Chris writing new songs.”

Blythe in fact told us about how Gwenyth and Chris met – directly after her husband Bruce Paltrow died of cancer in 2002.

“Fix You, was written for my husband, actually, ‘Tears streaming down your face, you’ve lost something you can’t replace, I will try to fix you.’ Chris missed meeting Bruce by six days. A friend of Gwenyth’s just made her go to a Coldplay concert, to cheer her up. She didn’t want to go but she did and she met Chris.”

Shortly after that fateful show, Gwyneth and Chris were an item and Chris immediately began working on the ballad to soothe Gwenyth’s grief.

“And then he wrote that song,’ Blythe said, “And it just kills me every time. It’s such a beautiful, beautiful song,”

It’s well known that Gwyneth and her rocker husband, Chris Martin, 35, are close friends with hip-hop power couple, Jay-Z, 42, and Beyonce, 30. She gushed to HollywoodLife.com exclusively that their newborn Blue Ivy is “for sure…going to be an entertainer” at the Governor’s Ball on Feb. 26. “She just has this glow around her like her mother.”

The actress admits she can’t get her kids to stop playing with their Nintendo Wii! Have you been there, HollyMoms? Any advice?

With all the new gadgets out there for kids to try, no wonder they get addicted!

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin‘s children, Apple, 7, and Moses, 5, are obsessed with video games — and it’s driving Gwyneth crazy!

“How the f do i get these kids off the wii? i swore i would never have one in the house, now they freebase Mario,” she posts on her Twitter page, with a cute pic of her pj-clad kids in the middle of a game.

One of Gwyneth’s Twitter followers offered some humorous advice, tweeting, “send them to Wii-Hab?” while another fan reassured the worried mom: “I reluctantly let my kids play – now one’s a computer scientist, the other a Marine Biologist/geek. Don’t fret, keep shoving out the love and they’ll turn out fine.”

And judging by what Gwyneth, 38, has to say about Apple and Moses, we’re pretty sure a little video gaming won’t kill ‘em!

”My kids are really good people,” she tells The Sun. “They’ve come out like that and I just don’t want to mess them up along the way. They’re great. I think if you can get your kids just to believe in themselves, I guess it will depend on what they want to do and what they want to be. I’ll always be there for them if they want my advice.”

So Gwyn, if they take your ‘no video games’ advice so be it, if not, they’ll grow out of it eventually! Right, HollyMoms?

The last thing Gwyneth Paltrow wants to do is return to that “zombie-like” state she lived through after the birth of her second child Moses, now 5, in 2006. Baby number three is a no-go. Did you struggle with postpartum depression?

“Looking at Moses makes me want to have another one, he is sooo gorgeous! But I don’t think so,” Gwyneth tells the Daily Mirror. “I don’t know if I can go there again, not sleep and be depressed for two years. I felt like a zombie.”

Gwyneth, 38, who has been singing her heart out lately, spilled the truth about her bout with the baby blues. “I didn’t know I had it until long after. I didn’t know what was wrong,” she says of the time after Moses’ birth. Gwyn knew something was off due to that fact that she felt completely different after giving birth to her first child with Coldplay‘s Chris Martin, Apple, now 7.

“I felt really out of my body. I felt really disconnected. I felt really down. I felt pessimistic,” she explains. She doesn’t want to feel that way again.
