Bio: Ian Somerhalder, born and raised in Louisiana, began modeling when he was just 10 years old, eventually deciding to go into acting when he turned 17. His first major TV role was in the first season of ABC’s hit series Lost in 2004, which was followed by a lead role on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries in 2009. Aside from acting, Ian is actively involved in natural preservation work. In December 2008, he launched the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, an organization designed to raise funds for environmental efforts and to educate people on the importance of protecting the planet.
