Can you believe it’s been FIVE years since One Direction dropped their debut album ‘Up All Night’!? The guys are all doing their own thing these days, but fans are still reminiscing on when they first got started. See the nostalgic tweets here!
It’s been an incredible five years for One Direction! One year after they came in third place on The X-Factor, Harry Styles, 22, Liam Payne, 23, Louis Tomlinson, 24, Niall Horan, 23, and Zayn Malik, 23, released their very first album, Up All Night, on Nov. 18, 2011, and fans are still obsessed with it to this day.
Directioners proved that point by blowing up Twitter on the record’s five year anniversary, getting the term #5YearsOfUpAllNight trending on the social media site by the early hours of the morning. Even Liam joined in, writing, “Our first album together will always be a special moment that I will remember forever”!

Of course, the guys have come a long way since then, dropping an album every single year until 2015’s Made In The A.M. After going nonstop for all that time, they shocked fans by announcing they’d be taking an indefinite hiatus, and they’ve all pursued their own futures since then.
Zayn was obviously the first to break out, leaving the group before its fifth album in March 2015 to go solo. Now, Niall has also gotten his solo career started, releasing the single “This Town” in September and gearing up to perform it at the American Music Awards, along with several Jingle Ball shows in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Louis is enjoying fatherhood, and Liam just signed to a record label on his own, while Harry’s giving acting a go, scoring a role in the World War II film Dunkirk.
We can’t wait to see what these guys do next, but we’ll still forever be looking back on Up All Night!
HollywoodLifers, can you believe it’s been five years since Up All Night? Do you think any of the other guys will tweet?
