This is so messed up. John McCain blatantly blamed President Obama for the appalling attack in an Orlando Nightclub on June 12, and fans are completely disgusted. See their enraged reactions to the statement, right here.
Just days after our country was hit by the deadliest mass shooting in recent history, John McCain, 79, blamed none other than our president Barack Obama, 54, for the tragedy that claimed 50 lives. He even went to far as to say he’s “directly responsible” for the attack. See fans freak out at the senator, here.
It’s important for America to unite after the horrible tragedy of June 12, but thanks to John, that won’t happen any time soon. The Republican senator from Arizona addressed a small group of reporters on June 16 in a Senate hallway after a filibuster forced them to talk about gun control, and rather than blaming guns, homophobia or ISIS for the attack, he pointed his finger at the President.
“Barack Obama is directly responsible for it,” John said. “Because when he pulled everybody out of Iraq, al-Qaeda went to Syria, became ISIS, and ISIS is what it is today thanks to Barack Obama’s failures.” Yikes! He tried to backtrack later by saying” To clarify, I was referring to Pres Obama’s national security decisions that have led to rise of
#ISIL, not to the President himself.”
Twitter was not having it! Fans immediately began to slam the Senator, insisting that it was his strong support of guns that has lead the country to a state of terror rather than President Obama’s choice to pull troops out of Iraq. Here are some of the most intense reactions:
I think that we can all agree that the best response to John McCain would be:
SIT DOWN, JOHN.

John McCain comes across as a dishonest, bizarrely unhinged, little man. His selective amnesia is alarming. But then again #HePickedPalin

McCain, who briefly claimed Obama was "directly responsible" for the Orlando massacre, has received $7.7M from NRA. https://t.co/f6Gde27MZ4

Saw John McCain trending and thought he'd died. No, just dead morally and politically.

BREAKING: John McCain, aka man who thought the Iraq War is great and Sarah Palin is presidential material, thinks @POTUS lacks judgement.

Later, John released a full statement, saying “I misspoke. I did not mean to imply that the President was personally responsible. I was referring to President Obama’s national security decisions, not the President himself. As I have said, President Obama’s decision to completely withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq in 2011 led to the rise of ISIL. I and others have long warned that the failure of the President’s policy to deny ISIL safe haven would allow the terrorist organization to inspire, plan, direct or conduct attacks on the United States and Europe as they have done in Paris, Brussels, San Bernardino and now Orlando.” Basically he’s saying “Sorry, not sorry.”
