It’s a sad day for WWE fans everywhere. As legendary wrestler Daniel Bryan announced his retirement, admirers couldn’t contain their anguish and immediately took to Twitter to release their heartfelt words of disappointment. See their sorrowful reactions here!
Daniel Bryan, 34, has fans across the country screaming, “No, no no!” The wrestling superstar revealed on Feb. 8 that he is officially hanging up the towel and stepping out of the ring, which has his supporters completely freaking out! Taking to Twitter, they didn’t hold back as they shared their disappointment in Daniel’s sudden announcement.
“Due to medical reasons, effective immediately, I am announcing my retirement,” Daniel, born Bryan Danielson, announced via Twitter on Feb. 8. And just like that another WWE great has been forced to quit due to medical difficulties. Fans couldn’t help posting their condolences on social media as they remembered the icon’s epic career:
@wwedanielbryan I love you. Thank you so much for years and years of entertaining us and sacrificing your health and well-being to do so.

@WWEDanielBryan Absolutely gutted but thank you for entertaining me over the past few years. One of the all time greats.

@WWEDanielBryan Thank you for everything you did for wrestling.

But fans aren’t the only ones who took to social media to comment on the news. Nikki Bella, the twin sister of Daniel’s wife, Brie Bella, wrote on Instagram, “Tonight will be emotional for all of us as we watch one of the best wrestlers that ever stepped foot into that ring retire. Bryan you will leave such an impactful and inspiring legacy behind.” The Bella sisters are reality stars on the television show Total Divas and are both WWE fighters as well.
In conjunction with his retirement announcement, Daniel also revealed that he will be elaborating on his decision on Raw, which is showing tonight, Feb. 8. Unfortunately however, this news wasn’t completely unexpected. Daniel had been taking a break from wrestling since April 2015 due to — once again — medical issues. But the medical issues he experienced are still unknown to the public. Hopefully Daniel will be able to clear things up for his fans on Raw and provide us all with some closure.
