When The Lego Movie was not called as one of the nominees for Best Animated Feature at the 2015 Oscar nominations, Twitter exploded. Fans of the critically-acclaimed movie were outraged by the lack of love from the Academy, but director Phil Lord eased their pain with his downright hilarious reaction to the snub.

He also tweeted, “This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of The Lego Movie, who made a classic.”

The Lego Movie quickly became a trending topic on Twitter as fans voiced their concern.

Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie & More Snubs

The Lego Movie wasn’t the only film to get ripped off by the Academy. Plenty of actors and actresses were left off the list of nominees. 

Jennifer Aniston got snubbed for her role in Cake, along with Angelina Jolie’s directing efforts in Unbroken

Nightcrawler’s Jake GyllenhaalSelma’s David Oyelowo and Big Eyes’ Amy Adams were left without a nomination.
