Tobey Maguire (born Tobias Maguire on June 27, 1975 in Santa Monica, CA) is an American actor and film producer. Maguire’s first role was non-speaking in the 1989 film, The Wizard. As he auditioned for roles, he found himself opposite of Leonardo DiCaprio, constantly. They worked together on Parenthood and This Boy’s Life. He went on to get a number of lead roles in the late 90s, in movies such as The Ice Storm, Pleasantville, and Wonder Boys. In 2002, Tobey starred in Spider-Man, which ultimately made him a star. He reprised the role in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. In 2005, Tobey played the lead role in critically acclaimed film Seabiscuit. In 2009, Tobey was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in Brothers. Leo and Tobey reunited in the remake of The Great Gatsby, in which Tobey played Nick Carraway.

Personal Life:
Tobey has been a vegetarian since 1992 and became a vegan in 2009. He struggled with alcoholism, but has been sober since the mid-90s. Tobey has taken up tournament poke, and has competed since 2004. Tobey met his wife Jennifer Meyer in 2003 while he was shooting Seabiscuit. They were engaged in 2006. The two had their first child, Ruby Sweetheart Maguire, on November 10, 2006. Jen and Tobey married in September 2007 in Kona, Hawaii. Their second child, Otis Tobias Maguire, was born on May 8, 2009. On October 18, 2016, Tobey and Jen announced they were separating after nine years of marriage.
