Sally Field (born Sally Margaret Field in Pasadena, California on November 6, 1947) is an American actress. She got her big break on the TV show The Flying Nun, which ran from 1967 to 1970. She is widely recognized for her roles in Smokey and the Bandit, Norma Rae, Steel Magnolias, Mrs. Doubtfire, Forrest Gump and Lincoln. She won an Academy Award in 1980 and 1985 for her performances in Norma Rae and Places in the Heart. She’s also won three Emmy Awards for her roles in Sybil, Brothers & Sisters and a guest role on ER.
