It wasn’t exactly love at first sight for these two, but over the course of their romance they have consistently shown their fans that their love hasn’t wavered one iota since they exchanged their wedding vows back in 1996. Meeting In 1994

Tim and Faith’s love story begins in 1994, when the two first met each other in — where else? — Nashville! The then-rising stars of the country music world were both performing at the annual Country Radio Seminar in Music City, U.S.A. but their relationship didn’t blossom until a few short years later. In fact, Tim and Faith were both in very different spots when it came to their romantic lives. Tim was seeing Kristine Donahue and Faith had just finalized her divorce from Daniel Hill. But it wouldn’t take long for Tim and Faith to come together.

Tim Pops The Question In 1996

Faith and Tim reconnected on his aptly name “Spontaneous Combustion Tour” in 1996. Tim had just broken off his relationship with Kristine, while Faith was seeing someone else. But the two couldn’t deny their palpable chemistry. “Thought I’d take y’all back a bit….From the ‘Spontaneous Combustion’ Tour…we just started dating,” Tim captioned a photo that he shared, featuring the two singing together in 1996. Soon after, the pair got engaged and later married in October of that year to the surprise of their close friends and family members!

Becoming A Family Of Five

It wasn’t long after Faith and Tim wed that they started adding to their young family. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Gracie Katherine, in May 1997, less than one year after the two tied the not! In August 1998, the trio became a quartet when their daughter Maggie Elizabeth was born. Finally, the family was made complete when the couple welcomed their daughter Audrey Caroline in 2001. Faith and Tim regularly gush about their daughters on social media, and the family has proven just how tightly knit they are over the years.

Their First Tour Together In 2000

While Tim and Faith were undoubtedly superstars in their own right by 2000, they made one heck of a duo when they performed together. So, in 2000, the couple decided to go on their very first tour together. The “Soul2Soul Tour” was aptly named for the couple’s love for one another and was incredibly successful. Faith and Tim began the cross-country tour in July 2000 and wrapped it up by December of that year — that’s roughly six months on the road! After that, the couple continued to grace their fans with dual performances and duets.

Back On Stage In 2006

By 2006, the duo was back together on stage and on the road. The couple’s second tour was a sequel of sorts to their first, especially in its name. The “Soul2Soul II Tour” picked up right where Faith and Tim left off, with music from their respective careers and duets aplenty from these two crooners!

Viva Las Vegas

It was only a matter of time before Faith and Tim’s concerts took them all the way to Vegas. The couple shared a residency in the Entertainment Capital of the World for a number of performances in 2012. They performed at the Venetian for 20 shows, settling for a time in Vegas just for their stint.

20 Years Of Marriage In 2016

In October 2016, Faith and Tim celebrated 20 years of marriage. The couple, though outwardly united and perfectly content, have been forthcoming about the struggles their marriage faced at certain points. Tim notably discussed an ultimatum his wife gave him when his partying antics became too much for Faith, their girls, and even Tim.

“When things happen and you succeed beyond your wildest dreams and you’re playing all these great shows and the parties are going on,” Tim shared with Hoda Kotb on the Today show on November 5, 2019 while promoting his memoir Grit & Grace: Train The Mind, Train Your Body, Own Your Life. “Then you’re married and you have kids. And all of a sudden your wife looks at you and says, ‘You know, you’re getting a little overboard and you need to make some decisions.’ It makes a big impact on you,” he recalled. “In that instance, she knew that someone had to lay down the law. Getting real like only she can do, Faith told me, ‘Partying or family, take your pick.’”

A Duet Album

Clearly, the struggles that Tim and Faith faced were absolutely no match for their unbreakable bond. After years of performing together and teasing a potential joint album, the couple finally delivered and gave fans what they wanted. The Rest of Our Life debuted on November 17, 2017 and was recorded in 2016, when the couple celebrated 20 years of marriage. The album featured 11 tracks with Tim and Faith singing together, including songs like “Speak to a Girl” and the title track “The Rest of Our Life.”
