Julia Michaels (born November 13, 1993 in Davenport, IA) is an America singer and songwriter. She quickly moved from Iowa to Santa Clarita, California where she started singing at the age of 12. Her music is a mix of pop, dance, and EDM.
Best Known For:
Besides singing at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Rio Olympics alongside DJ Kygo, Julia is best known for her Justin Bieber lawsuit scandal from May 2016. The case insisted that Justin stole Julia’s lyrics and used them in the radio hit “Sorry.” Not only was Julia the song’s co-writer, her voice was also used as backup vocals in the hook.
Personal Life:
Julia has worked with a multitude of pop sensations, including Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo, Kelly Clarkson, and Britney Spears. She was homeschooled by her parents, and also attended charter school for extra tutoring.
