Ne-Yo isn’t just in the studio recording hit music, he’s a father-of-two and trying to touch the lives of children everywhere. Ne-Yo, who was recently appointed the VP of A&R at Motown Records, created the Compound Foundation, which he founded in 2007 to help young kids in foster care to become empowered and follow their dreams.

Ne-Yo was headed to Newark, NJ., for the third stop on his 6th Annual Compound Foundation Giving Tour when he came to HollywoodLife.com. His Compound Foundation partnered with The Boys and Girls Club and they kicked off the tour in Las Vegas on Dec. 17, went to LA, Newark and then ending on Dec. 20 in Atlanta. But the tours aren’t the only things that Ne-Yo’s foundation is doing.

“Music I can honestly say saved my life, the power of it music is what made me who I am today, in this chair right this second,” Ne-Yo said. “We’ve taken some music studios and put them into group homes. There’s one in Atlanta.”

Ne-Yo, who just released his fifth studio album R.E.D., told us what it stands for: realizing every dream. He confirmed he’s indeed in the studio working with Beyonce and he’s totally up for collaborating with Rihanna again. Keep in mind, he wrote Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable,” and Rihanna’s “Unfaithful” and “Russian Roulette.”

As Justin Bieber, 17, gets older, he’ll need to figure out how to avoid the same “has-been” fate as NKOTB and the Backstreet Boys. In a Hollywoodlife.com exclusive, Ne-Yo offers his advice on how The Biebs can have a long shelf life.

“Justin Bieber is about to make a very difficult transition; he started out as a very, very little kid and he is moving into young adulthood, which will then move into adulthood,” the R&B star told us at Hollywood hotspot Supper Club for the Ne-Yo and Compound Entertainment annual Midnight Brunch, launching the new Malibu Red on Feb. 11.

So how does the young buck keep his heartthrob status with his Beliebers?

“It’s not an easy transition to make, your fans have to grow with you, so you have to write songs that they can relate to,” NeYo says. “So I would simply sit down with [Justin] and have a conversation and have him talk to me about life, have him talk to me about girls that he likes. Talk to me about what is going on in his head right now and then write songs according to that.”

Ne-Yo’s girlfriend Monyetta Shaw gave birth to their son on Sunday, Oct. 9.

Ne-Yo is a father again! The singer and his girlfriend Monyetta Shaw welcomed Mason Evan into their family, People reports.

The baby boy weight in at 6 lbs., 10 oz.!

This is the second child for the couple — they also have a daughter named Madilyn Grace.

We wish Ne-Yo and Monyetta the best of luck with their new bundle of joy!

Ne-Yo, real name Shaffer Chimere Smith, is going to be a dad-of-two! The R&B singer, 31, and his longtime girlfriend Monyetta Shaw are engaged and expecting another baby!

According to Us Weekly, Monyetta, an Atlanta boutique owner who’s currently working on opening a new store Emaralyn and Ester, is due to give birth in October. Wow, that was fast — she welcomed the couple’s first child, daughter Madilyn Grace, in November 2010.

“She’s healthy and happy. Feels like I’m in luv for the first time,” he tweeted when Madilyn was born. “Welcoming that lil’ girl to the world last night defined for me what ‘willing to kill and die for’ truly means. My world, my life, all hers.”

Ne-Yo is used to singing about love but he never realized just how deeply he could love something until the arrival of his daughter, Madilyn Grace. “It’s love like I’ve never felt before. I’ve been in love with a woman before, I know what that is. I’ve been in love with music before I know what that is. I’ve never experienced love like this, its instant from the second I laid eyes on her,” he tells Detroit’s Gossip Girls about the 1-month-old he has with girlfriend Monyetta Shaw.

And now the first-time father, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, is devoting his life to making sure his little lady, who was born two months before her January due date, is safe and sound. “I would do anything to make sure she never hurts or needs for anything in life and I’ve never felt that before. It’s special at the same time it’s scar,” says the 31-year-old.

But the thought of being responsible for such a tiny, innocent being, is freaking him out, he admits. “Fatherhood is scary as hell but it’s the most enjoyable fear that I’ve ever experienced,” he says. “You know I don’t got to tell y’all that the world we live in today is not the most positive place all the time so just thinking about the different things that I’m going to have to teach her, hoping that I teach her well that’s the scary part…but its gonna be fun I’m gonna enjoy myself.”

The singer-songwriter and girlfriend Monyetta Shaw welcomed a baby girl Nov. 12!

He has written award winning hits for stars like Beyonce, but it is safe to say R & B artist Ne-Yo celebrated his biggest accomplishment Nov. 12 when he and girlfriend Monyetta Shaw became the proud parents of a baby girl, Madilyn Grace Smith.

Madilyn, born in Atlanta, actually came much earlier than her expected January due date according to People.

Though Ne-Yo was at a charity event when Monyetta went in to labor he quickly dropped everything to make it to the hospital in time.

Congratulations to the new parents!
