Maksim Chmerkovskiy has announced that he  will be leaving Dancing With the Stars after 15 seasons — we’ll miss him!

“What else do I have to do there after 15 seasons?” Maksim tells the New York Post. “It makes total sense. The audience can’t expect for me to want to stick around, and the producers can’t expect for me to want to stick around.”

Maks plans to pursue an acting career and possibly a reality show with his brother Val after the current DWTS season, All-Stars, comes to a close.

“I loved doing it. But to be honest with you, at 32, I am at what-about-me time.”

“I am not thinking that with me leaving, the show will go off the air or anything,” he adds. “Like my dad said, ‘There are no irreplacable people.’ I wish them the next 50 years of success. But I have to do something else. I need to move on for me.“

Melissa Gilbert and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, have certainly had better evenings on the dance floor. Tonight during Dancing with the Stars, the couple had two mishaps — one that affected their scores and another that might have devastating and long-lasting health effects!

During the dance, Maks fell on his butt near the end when he was twirling Melissa around. ”I know silly old Maks fell over, but it was a slippery floor and I don’t care,” Len Goodman said.

However, what we didn’t see was Melissa hitting her head against the ground hard during the dance. Apparently, she became increasingly dizzy and had to be rushed to the hospital during the middle of the show.

Thankfully, the reps at the studio didn’t seem overly concerned about the incident, simply saying we’ll see all the details tomorrow night during the results show. (We got especially nervous, simply because she broke her back several years ago…)

That said, even though Maks and Melissa struggled with their paso, not everyone was upset by it. ”On the whole, I thought that was your best performance by FAR,” Carrie Ann Inaba said, complimenting.

Overall, rock night was pretty much a bust in my book, with my two favorites, William Levy and Katherine Jenkins, getting their worst scores of the season.

Every week on Dancing with the Stars we watch the judges pick apart the skilled dancers and praise the less talented contestants for their “effort” — and dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy is sick of it! During Broadway Night Oct. 24, the hot-headed 31-year-old dancer gave judge Len Goodman a piece of his mind and it was so intense, I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see him back again next season.

Maks and Hope Solo‘s rumba to Rent‘s “Season of Love” was mistake ridden and filled with fumbles. However, when the judges tried to tell that to them, Maks FREAKED out. 7, 6, 7 = 20/30

This is how it went down:

“Uh…I’m at a loss really, if I’m honest,” Len said. “This was your worst dance of the whole season, in my opinion…I’ve been in this business for 50 years.”

Maks quickly replied, “Maybe it’s time to get out.”

The other two judges started yelling at Maks for being disrespectful, but then he continued. “Everyone in that balcony has been dying and killing themselves only to hear your guys’ little judgmental comments,” he said.

Then after the commercial break, Maks explained his rationale — and it actually made sense.

“With all due respect, this is my show. I help make it what it is. I love every aspect of it. I love every professional that’s ever been here and I love every celebrity that puts effort into it every week,” he said. “Having said that, I’m a little tired that we’re being judged some on effort and some being picked on by heel leads. That’s it.”

I can’t wait to hear what the judges have to say about all of that. However, I do think they are more critical to the dancers who have more potential. Although I don’t love Hope, I think she’s objectively much stronger than Chaz and even Nancy, so it’s weird they criticize her to the degree they do. That said, here were the rest of the dances:

Rob Kardashian: Rob and Cheryl performed a cha cha to a Jersey Boys song and even though I found it entertaining, I was still distracted by Rob’s arms. There was something awkward about his hand motions. “There was no rhythm,” Len Goodman said, over the Kardashian family’s boos. 8, 7, 7 = 22/30

Nancy Grace: I don’t know why I found Nancy and Tristan’s foxtrot to a song from Monty Python’s Spamalot so funny, but I’m still in stitches. It seemed a little flimsy to me, but the judges were thrilled. “You upped the ante on that and I’d call that a show stopper!” Carrie Ann Inaba raved. Meh…I’m not sold, but I still find Nancy entertaining. (P.S. Carrie Ann must have been on crack when she scored this one…) 9, 7, 8 = 24/30

David Arquette: David should win the award for most improved! I thought his Grease dance was adorable and really fun. It didn’t make me uncomfortable at all (as his performances are ought to do). The judges thought they seemed out of sync, but I didn’t notice it. How cute was David’s daughter, Coco, in the audience? She LOVED her dad’s performance. 8, 7, 8 = 23/30

Ricki Lake: Ricki and Derek’s quickstep to “Luck Be a Lady” earned a standing ovation from two of the judges and it definitely deserved it! Derek’s choreography was flawless and he always brings out the best in his partners. “It fit like a glove! Your interpretation of the music was just beyond belief,” Bruno said. “It was so quick and so precise and so sophisticated!” Carrie Ann added. Totally agree. 10, 9, 10 = 29/30

Chaz Bono: I have a soft spot in my heart for all things Phantom of the Opera, so I finally enjoyed Chaz’s dance this week. However, there’s really no comparison of his dancing to the rest of the competition…it’s just, not good. “This was the most aggressive I’ve seen you, but I have to be very frank with you. At week six, I want to see more content,” Chaz’s biggest fan, Carrie Ann, said. Things got awkward when Brooke Burke asked Chaz for his reactions to his scores. “Not much to say, is there?” he asked. Buh bye, Chaz? 7, 6, 6 = 19/20

J.R. Martinez: Meanwhile, J.R. and Karina’s quickstep to “Hot Honey Rag” from Chicago was nearly flawless, once again. He’s such a joy to watch and I’m really pulling for him to take home the Mirror Ball Trophy. One thing that drives me nuts is when people claim he’s getting the pity vote. Wake up, people. Regardless of his back story, J.R. is a fantastic dancer. “Bob Fosse would have been proud!” Carrie Ann said. 10, 9, 10 = 29/30

If you’ve ever seen The Miz on an episode of WWE’s Monday Night Raw, you probably already know how much he loves to be hated. It pretty much fuels his very being. So it’s no surprise he agreed to appear on tonight’s episode of The CW’s H8R, during which he’ll come face-to-face with a real-life hater. What is surprising, he tells HollywoodLife.com, is the “awesome” way he handles with his victim.

“What I do to my hater is better than anything anyone has done on the show so far,” he reveals. “Most people just talk about who they are, but I try to make my hater look — and act — exactly like me. One of the biggest forms of redemption is basically making a person that hates you become you.”

Speaking of redemption and haters, I couldn’t talk to The Miz without asking about his current situation with the WWE. He may have been fired by COO Triple H, but now that Triple H’s job appears to be going south, fans are wondering if it will lead to The Miz’s return to Raw.

“Time will tell,” The Miz says, cryptically. “Who knows what will ever happen in the WWE? As long as Triple-H is the COO, though, I don’t want to come back.

For now, the much-hated former WWE supertsar is content just watching TV — including his episode of H8R, which airs at 8 p.m. tonight on The CW — and relaxing on his couch, which he calls his ultimate vacation.

“I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do,” he says. “I haven’t had days off in the WWE in five years, and this is my greatest moment ever. My dad asks me why I never go on vacation, and I tell him that all I want to do for a vacation is sit on my couch.”

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are inseperable! HollywoodLife.com has learned that on June 21 the actress and her hottie of a dance partner had a night out on the town. But Kirstie, 60, and Maksim, 31, weren’t locking lips all night — he was flirting with another girl!

A source tells us that the Dancing with the Stars season 12 runners’ up arrived at hotspot Avenue with two guys and a girl. Besides hanging by the banquet, they danced all night. But Maksim definitely made time to flirt with a stunning blonde — we hope Kirstie wasn’t jealous!

We don’t know how Kirstie finds the time to party so hard. She had co-hosted The View earlier that day and the night before she attended the premiere of Cameron Diaz‘s new flick Bad Teacher!

We love how Kirstie can’t keep herself off the dance floor now that she’s been bitten by the DWTS bug.

Kirstie Alley falls during rehearsal and says she forgot to eat! Is it okay to be losing so much weight?

Kirstie Alley, 60, may have earned a score of ten on her Argentine tango, but not before falling flat on her face during rehearsals on Dancing With The Stars! Running on only 1400 calories a day to lose weight, could Kirstie be causing more damage to herself?

After losing over 60 pounds, Kirstie’s finally made it to a size six — but sometimes she goes through a day forgetting to eat! Going through long hours of intense exercise, lack of sleep, little-to-no food, is she really helping her body get in tip-top shape?

Kirstie’s partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy advises she should bump up her diet to 2000 calories. “He’s probably right,” she says. “Usually what I do to lose weight, I eat 1,400 calories, but I guess if I’m working out five or seven hours then you have to change it around a little bit.”

Celebrity trainer Kathy Kaehler definitely agrees with Maks on 2000 calories as a minimum. She also stresses that Kirstie needs to focus on the kinds of calories she’s taking in. “She needs a lot of carbohydrates — good carbohydrates fuel her for the rehearsals but also for the performances.”

Extreme work-outs with crazy diets can cause a lot of damage to your body. “You’re still physically putting a demand on your cardiovascular system as well as your muscles,” says Kathy. “There are long term effects from over-use syndromes like disc damage to your back and joint damage.”

We’re getting a little worried about how quickly Kirstie’s waist size is shrinking. If she’s on an extreme work-out, her calorie count needs to be adjusted!
