We first fell in love with Edie Falco as a dramatic actress when she played mob wife Carmela Soprano on HBO’s Sopranos. Now America loves her in the caustic comedy Nurse Jackie. But Edie was shocked when she won the Emmy for Best Actress in a Comedy last night. She doesn’t think she is funny!!! We disagree.
“As soon as someone calls you funny you’re not funny anymore. I don’t really find myself funny!,” the officially funny actress said backstage. Edie’s win marks the first time an actress who previously won an Emmy for Best Actress in a dramatic role crossed over and won for comedy.
Edie, we miss your days as Tony’s wife, Carmela, in the hit HBO series The Sopranos.
Edie Falco, while your numerous guest roles have been a hit for your fans — we think it’s time for you step into a new role. We know you did a stint the theater — so maybe try Broadway! Astrology.com has all the details. Read more
Jackie’s in way over her head in season two!
Hey, BFFs! We hope you’re all caught up on Nurse Jackie, because it’s coming back at 10 p.m. tonight on Showtime — and trust us, you won’t want to miss it. If you remember, last May’s season finale left Jackie (Edie Falco) laying on the hospital floor in a drug-induced state, and while tonight’s premiere doesn’t pick up exactly where the finale left off, it does set up plenty of new troubles for our favorite pill-popping nurse. What would you do to see the Sopranos movie get made?
As all Sopranos die-hards are well aware, each and every former cast member has agreed to make a Sopranos movie…except one very important person: Mr. Tony Soprano himself. Luckily, his co-star and former on-screen wife, Edie Falco, has hatched a brilliant plan to get James Gandolfini to jump on board, and shared her genius idea with HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
“There’s nothing that guy needs. There’s nothing he wants. I think he’s very happy,” Edie, 46, told us at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Evening with Nurse Jackie in North Hollywood March 15.
Who looks better in Bottega Veneta?
Edie Falco looked stunning at the SAG Awards on Jan. 23 in a strapless Bottega Veneta gown, but she isn’t the only one who pulled out this flowing frock on the red carpet! Who ever said red heads shouldn’t wear red obviously didn’t see Julianne Moore at the BFI London Film Festival on Oct. 22. While Edie glammed up her look with dramatic earrings and chunky diamond bangles, Julianne opted for a cocktail ring — but who do you think wore it better? Read more & vote
