Kimberly Buffington first filed for divorce from estranged husband Dennis Quaid in March 2012. Ironically, she withdrew the petition, only to file for legal separation in October. However, Dennis made the final move by filing for divorce on Nov. 30.

Let the Spousal Support & Custody Battle Begin

Dennis, 57, reportedly requested joint custody of the couple’s twin sons, Thomas and Zoe, both 4, and has offered to pay Kimberly spousal support, according to Radar Online.

Apparently, the couple could not officially divorce until now, because they moved to California over the summer, and the state requires a 6-month residency before someone can file for divorce — according to TMZ.

This will be Dennis’ third failed marriage.

Looks like Dennis Quaid and his wife of eight years, Kimberly Buffington-Quaid, are headed towards a permanent and final split. Kimberly has reportedly filed for separation — which will lead to an official divorce — and is asking for sole custody of their 4-year-old twins, Thomas and Zoe.

“Kimberly is fed up with Dennis’ cheating and wants out of the marriage,” a source tells TMZ. “He’s not a good husband.”

Kimberly will be represented by infamous celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser, according to the report, which also claims she’s asking for spousal support and attorney’s fees.

The couple moved to California in the summer and they’re waiting for six months to pass to establish residency before filing for an actual divorce, according to the report. But this shouldn’t come as a surprise to many since their relationship has allegedly been on the rocks for awhile now — TMZ  reported that they were set to divorce in March 2012. 

However, this isn’t the only turmoil this couple has endured in recent years. In November 2007, his two twins almost died because the hospital accidentally gave them a massive overdose of the blood thinner heparin, putting them at risk of bleeding to death.

This will be Dennis’ third divorce. He was married to P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983, and Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001. He married Kimberly in 2004.

You know the old saying “the third time’s the charm?” Apparently, that doesn’t apply to Dennis Quaid‘s marriages. His third wife Kimberly Buffington has filed for divorce, TMZ is reporting, and says their marriage “has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities.”

The couple has a temporary custody plan in place for their children — twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace – which will grant them equal time together. While Kimberly is now in possession of the couple’s main home as well as their Mercedes, Dennis gets to keep the Escalade and a condominium they share.

This will be Dennis’ third divorce. He was married to P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983, and Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001. He married Kimberly in 2004.

UPDATE: After much back-and-forth between both parties, Dennis has filed for divorce from Kimberly.

From the riveting and I mean RIVETING dance numbers, to the magnetic chemistry between the lead characters, Ren and Ariel, to Blake Shelton singing an updated version of the theme song — this 2011 version of Footloose is an instant new classic.

And a film you’ll want to see more than once. I know I’m ready to go a second time. There were a multitude of  charming moments that I just want to take in again, starting from the opening credits sequence with fabulously dancing feet, to the fun impromptu dancing scene outside the local hangout!

Now while Footloose features a budding romance at its’ center between the rebellious pastor’s daughter Ariel and Ren, the orphaned outsider boy from Boston who’s just moved to town, the movie lovingly focuses on the other key relationships.

These include Ren’s sweet and hilarious friendship with local good guy/goofball Willard, played by Miles Teller. The scene where Ren teaches gangly Willard to dance, with the help of Ren’s adorable young nieces, to the sound of, “Let’s Hear It For The Boy,” is a total pleasure.

Then there’s the warmly developed relationship that Ren develops with his aunt Amy and Uncle Wes, who take him in, in their little town of Bomont, Georgia, after Ren’s mother loses her long, tough battle with leukemia.

This family relationship has so much more depth than the cartoon-like disapproving family that Kevin Bacon moved in with, in the original film.

And it actually makes this version of Footloose much more warm and believable than the original.

The story is in most ways the same as the original except in small ways. Ren moves from Boston to Bomont alone, after the single mom that he’s nursed for months, dies. He dresses in a minor way like a rebel with a James Dean pompador and leather jacket and he LOVES to dance. A member of his former high school’s gymnastics team, he’s NOT a substance abuser; he’s a hard-worker, great car mechanic and he LOVES to dance.

In other words, he’s a great kid. But that doesn’t stop trouble from following him.

From the moment that he arrives in this small Georgia town, where his mother grew up, some of the locals are suspicious of the loud rock and roll music playing in his car, and they’re convinced he’s up to no good.

The problem is that three years before, five of the town’s high school seniors were killed while driving home after a night of dancing, partying and drinking.

The town’s reaction, led by Reverend Show Moore, played by Dennis Quaid, is to ban high schoolers from dancing — not even at a school prom. The Reverend is particularly adamant because one of those five students killed was his beloved top student son, Bobby.

Ren is incredulous at this ban and embarks on a campaign to get the town council to allow the high school seniors to hold a full-on prom. Meanwhile, he also embarks on a budding relationship with Ariel, who he woos away from her doltish racing car driver, boyfriend, Chuck, played by Patrick John Flueger. Maybe Ren senses that Ariel is a lost soul, underneath her wild girl swagger. Her older brother Bobby, had been her hero.

In every way, this new version of Footloose fleshes out the best of the original! The characters, the plot and best of all — the dance numbers.

Kenny and Julianne, unlike Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer — can DANCE like crazy — especially Julianne! Their dance numbers are wild, sexy and fun. Especially fun is a new extended scene of fabulous line dancing when Ren, Ariel, Willard and Ariel’s BFF escape from the town for a night of dancing in a bar where dancing is allowed!

The only thing that would have made this new Footlooseeven better, would have been EVEN more DANCING! The prom scene could have gone on minutes longer and it would have been just more sheer pleasure.

So get prepped to cut loose and see Footloose!

He gets essentials in NYC after she sought help in Connecticut.

Michael Douglas looked fraught with concern while out shopping for groceries on April 13 in New York City, days after his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones was released from a Connecticut mental health facility.

INFPhoto.com is reporting Catherine, 41, checked into Silver Hill Hospital — which specializes in treating mental illness and substance abuse — in New Canaan, Conn., April 6.

“After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check into a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II Disorder. She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films,” Catherine’s rep told HollywoodLife.com.

Catherine timed her treatment very strategically, as she’s preparing to film Playing the Field in Louisiana with Gerard Butler, Dennis Quaid, Jessica Biel and Uma Thurman. Then she is to work on a movie set in Las Vegas, Lay the Favorite, with Bruce Willis and Justin Timberlake.

We’re so happy Catherine got help — she’s been through so much over the past year.

Many people wonder, why use a surrogate? Well, in most cases couples who can’t conceive on their own or who would be put at risk for carrying their own child are the ones who decide that surrogacy is the right choice for them. Celebrity spouses like Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka and Elton John and David Furnish all chose to use a surrogate and have ended up with beautiful, happy and healthy children!

After trying for years to have another baby, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick decided that surrogacy would be the best way to give their son James Wilke, now 8, a sibling. “We’ve been trying to expand our family for a number of years and we actually have explored a variety of ways of doing so,” Sarah Jessica, 45, told Access Hollywood after she announced her use of a surrogate for her  and Matthew’s twin girls Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, now 1. “This was one of the things we discussed with seriousness that had real possibilities for us.” SJP also added that if she was able to conceive on her own, she would have definitely, and obviously, carried a baby herself. “It would be a complicated – it would be odd to have made this choice if I was able to, you know, have successful pregnancies since my son’s birth.”

We’re still wondering why Nicole Kidman decided on a gestational carrier. Was she having fertlity problems like Sarah Jessica or was she simply afraid to carry a child at 43-years-old?

After adoption fell through, Elton John, 63, and his partner David Furnish, 48, decided that surrogacy was the right path for them. “We turned to a highly recommended agency called the Center for Surrogate Parenting,” David tells Us Weekly. “We had to be interviewed by their psychologists, and were regularly counseled. Then we looked through a whole series of egg donor profiles, with the primary concern being family health history. Then our surrogate chose us from an anonymous profile — it’s her choice too.” Lucky choice considering she was carrying Elton John’s baby, but the couple says she was anything but interested in fame. Elton and David welcomed a baby boy named Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John on Christmas Day 2010.

For Marissa Jaret Winokur, 37, surrogacy was her only option to conceive. The Tony award winner underwent a hysterectomy when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of 27. “For people out there who don’t understand surrogacy, it’s very important that they understand it’s not about someone in Hollywood who doesn’t want to gain weight. It’s not like Sarah Jessica Parker didn’t want to have her own baby. For everybody that has a surrogate, that was their last chance,” Marissa explains. Now, Marissa, who welcomed a son Zev Isaac, now 2, with husband Judah Miller, is trying to have another baby! “I have spent the last month doing IVF and this week I had my eggs removed!!!” she wrote in her blog on People.com. “Judah and I have six embryos waiting to find a womb!!!”

Ever since she hit the silver screen, 49-year old Meg Ryan has stood in Hollywood’s spotlight as one of America’s sweethearts. Her fairy-tale romantic comedies gave everyone hope at finding true love and living happily ever after. In real life things aren’t so simple for Meg, whose love life seems to be on a scandalous rollercoaster with rumors she caused the split between John Mellencamp and wife of 18 years, Elaine!

Meg’s 10-year marriage to Dennis Quaid ended in 2001 when news surfaced she cheated on him with bad boy Russell Crowe. Now she’s caught in the middle of another romance-gone-wrong with John. The 59-year-old rocker recently announced the end of his marriage to his model wife, and though reasons for their split haven’t been publicized, many are speculating a blossoming romance between Meg and John is to blame. But John’s not so innocent in the love department — Elaine, 41, is his third wife. In fact, he has five children from his trio of marriages; Michelle from first wife Priscilla, daughters Teddi Jo and Justice from second spouse Victoria and sons Hud, 16,  and Speck, 15, from Elaine.

Caught on camera walking arm-in-arm with John in NYC this past October, Meg has only fueled romance rumors by being spotted backstage enjoying his company at a couple of his recent US tour dates. Although she’s said to be collaborating with John on the musical Ghost Brothers of Darkling County, it looks like her romantic reputation is taking a serious nose dive.

According to PEOPLE mazgaine the pair have also been spotted having coffee at Espresso Love, one of Ryan’s favorite spots on Martha’s Vineyard, and grocery shopping at Gourmet Garage in New York’s SoHo neighborhood – where observers tell say seemed happy and at ease.

“She usually comes in by herself or with her daughter. I thought that was her husband because they seemed for comfortable and familiar with each other, just like an old married couple,” one observer tells PEOPLE.

Update: RadarOnline.com has a photo of Meg, John and Elaine having dinner together in New York City after John’s March 2008 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It seems like the ladies were friends before the marriage was broken up — what a slap in the face to Elaine!
