Luke Perry (born Coy Luther Perry III on October 11, 1966 in Mansfield, Ohio) is an American actor. He revealed in the ’90s that he auditioned for 215 acting jobs before finally landing a TV commercial. He premiered in a music video for Twisted Sister and started off his career in early soap operas like Loving and Another World. He landed the role of Dylan McKay on the teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210. Luke went on to become a popular teen idol, also starring in Terminal Bliss and the film version of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Luke reprised his role in 90210 in 2008. Other credits include the Broadway production of The Rocky Horror Show and the London production of When Harry Met Sally. Luke returned to TV in 2015 on the Up Network show Detective McLean: Ties That Bind. He will be on the new show Riverdale on The CW.
