Mark Ruffalo (born Mark Alan Ruffalo on November 22, 1967 in Kenosha, Wisconsin) is an American actor. Mark spent his early years growing up in Kenosha before relocating with his family to Virginia Beach, Virginia. Soon after, his family moved west to California. After graduating high school, Mark took classes at the Stella Adler Conservatory. Mark would have minor roles throughout the late 1990’s, before getting cast in the 2000 Academy Award nominated film, You Can Count On Me. From there, he would have roles in XX/XY (2002), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) and in Collateral with Tom Cruise. The mid 2000’s saw Mark portray the romantic lead in the movies View From The Top (2002), 13 Going On 30 (2004) and Just Like Heaven (2005). In 2006, Mark starred in the stage-play Awake and Sing in New York, earning himself a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor In a Play. Mark’s more dramatic roles have been in Martin Scorsese‘s thriller, Shutter Island and in 2010’s The Kids Are All Right, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In 2012, Mark replaced Edward Norton in the role of Bruce Banner/The Hulk in The Avengers. He would gather awards and nominations for his role of Olympic Gold-medal winning wrestler Dave Schultz in 2014’s Foxcatcher. He is currently scheduled to reprise the role in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Personal Life:
Mark married French-American actress Sunrise Coigney in 2000. They have three children together – son Keen, and daughters Bella Noche and Odette. Mark was diagnosed with acoustic neuroma, a type of brain tumor, in 2002. After successful surgery and a period of temporary facial paralysis, he made a full recovery. Mark is an outspoken opponent of fracking, frequently appearing to discuss his opposition to the gas extraction process. In 2012, he endorsed Kathleen Kane, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania Attorney General.
