Bio:
Winnie Harlow (born Chantelle Brown-Young on July 27, 1994 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian model and spokes-model. Winnie was born in Toronto and by the age of four, she was diagnosed with vitiligo, a skin condition that resulted in portions of her skin losing its pigment. Winnie was teased mercilessly over her skin by classmates, causing her to drop out of school when she was 16. YouTube personality Shannon Boodram saw pictures of her on Facebook and asked Winnie to shoot for her music video, “Natural Me.” Her career took off and she was chosen to be on the 21st cycle of Tyra Banks’ show, America’s Next Top Model. Though she was eliminated early on, she returned thanks to a fan vote. She ultimately placed sixth. After ANTM, Winnie landed a gig as the brand representative for Desigual. In 2015, she modeled for Diesel in its Spring/Summer campaigns. Winnie also appeared in two foreign editions of Glamour and featured in the Aug/Sept. issue of Complex magazine. Also in Aug. 2015, she was featured in Cosmopolitan and Ebony magazine.
