We’re not freaking out, YOU’RE freaking out! ‘Harry Potter and The Cursed Child’ dropped on Sunday, July 31, and muggles across the world are already diving into the brand new magical play! Click through to see fans’ excited tweets!
It’s been nine years since a proper Harry Potter book was released, and for HP fans, that’s nine years too many! That made the release of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child on July 31 even more special, even though the latest addition to the wizarding world is a play, and not a hefty novel!
Just like the Harry Potter days of yore, thrilled fans got the chance to head to bookstores at midnight, dress up in their Hogwarts robes, paint on lightning bolt scars, and anxiously wait in line to receive their copy of the highly-anticipated play from JK Rowling. And, of course, tons of voracious readers immediately raced home and dug into the play to find out just what Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione are all up to as adults — and what their kids are doing as they head to Hogwarts for the first time. Is anyone else getting nostalgic right now?
Of course, there are a few people that haven’t gotten the chance to read the play yet. People have to work, or even sleep! And some people ordered the book online, and are waiting with bated breath for it to still arrive. Check out the hilarious tweets from these uber excited Harry Potter fans:
