Is a Guns N’ Roses reunion in the works? After fans of the hard rock band noticed a change to the group’s website and Facebook page, speculation began that it could mean they could be reuniting. Get more info below!
Brace yourselves, Guns N’ Roses fans…it may be time for a band reunion! The ’80s rock band updated their websites to feature a throwback logo that made fans freak out at the thought that the original band could be getting back together in the near future. Is it about time a GNR reunion takes place?
Right around Christmas, the band began teasing fans by changing the homepage of its website to the original logo, as well as changing the profile picture and cover photo of its Facebook page. The photos featured on Facebook are supposedly from Guns N’ Roses’ show in Argentina on July 17, 1993, which was the last time the original group played together. Fans immediately thought this could be a hint that Slash will be returning to the band, reuniting the classic GNR members for a world tour. The changes sparked a flurry of excited comments!
“F—— FINALLY. Knew it would have to happen sooner or later. With the logo/facebook picture change and the sneaky teaser before Star Wars, I think it’s pretty obvious something big is coming. I CAN FEEL A SHIFT IN THE FORCE. COME ON BOYS!!!!!” one fan wrote in the comments of the Facebook photo. Another added, “Ready for the reunion. The recent band is good, but the fans want it old school!” One fan even declared that a Guns N’ Roses reunion would be the biggest event in music since Elvis passed away!
Along with the website changes, a mysterious trailer featuring the band’s hit “Welcome to the Jungle” and black-and-white footage of a crowd — similar to the Facebook photos — appeared in theaters prior to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Talk about a major tease!
It wasn’t just the peculiar changes and the trailer that sparked question of a comeback — rumors have apparently been swirling about a GNR reunion since September. The band’s split was caused in part by the bad blood between lead singer, Axl Rose, and guitarist Slash, but an insider from Dish Nation told NME that the former members have since “verbally agreed to get things together again and reform the original band.”
Amidst the reunion rumors, an insider even told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that it really is happening! “The band is getting back together and they are working on new music, a potential Coachella gig and the NFL has talked to them to do the halftime show,” the insider said. Although Coldplay has since been announced as the Super Bowl 50 halftime show performers, Coachella is definitely still a possibility — especially if they get back together sooner than later!
As a new year approaches and fans continue to flip over the idea of a possible reunion, we might be seeing a full Guns N’ Roses reunion in the near future. It would definitely be a great way for GNR fans to kick off 2016!
