Robert Pattinson flew solo on Friday Nov. 30 as the Twilight actor attended the Arbitrage luncheon at Osteria Mozza. Presumably, girlfriend Kristen Stewart stayed at home as her boyfriend schmoozed with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Rob went to the event, dressed casually with a black t-shirt, denim jacket and heavier black jacket on top. Arbitrage actor Richard Gere and director Nicholas Jarecki were also featured at the event.

From the looks of the photos, it seems as though Rob and Richard hit it off as the two have a lot in common. Richard became a hot commodity after starring in 1980′s American Gigolo, and went on to star in hit films such as Breathless and Pretty Woman. Rob also became a hot commodity after starring in Twilight four years ago. Perhaps Rob is angling to mirror his career after Richard’s.

Even though Rob’s relationship with Kristen seems to be back on track, it seems as though the couple is trying to distance themselves from one another when it comes to their career obligations. Kristen was notably absent from the event.

Richard Gere appears as a Wall Street tycoon with some pretty bad behavior in new film Arbitrage and, in a new interview with Jeanne Wolf’s Hollywood, he reveals how he was able to tap into his inner “scumbag” to play the part!

Richard tells Jeanne, in a video given to HollywoodLife.com exclusively, how he was able to tap into the dark aspects of the character, aspect he probably doesn’t like to admit to in real life. “I admit, fully, I’m a total scumbag in so many ways,” he says. “I have greed, anger, hatred, impatience — I have all those things. Of course I do.”

He explains how he is able to suppress being a scumbag in real life and why the character, however dark, is still relatable. “I’ve worked at them so I can seem them come up as they come up, but I still have that stuff,” Richard explains. “I don’t see this guy that different from us and, like all good drama, because he’s human, he touches us somehow.”

2010 marks the 20-year reunion of Julia Roberts’ classic hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold flick Pretty Woman, so it would seem pretty silly for a sequel to happen this late in the game. Julia herself agrees: it ain’t never gonna happen.

“No one wants to see an old hooker!” the A-list actress, 42, told Extra, adding quizzically, “Do they?”

We’re pretty sure at this point that, if Pretty Woman 2 WAS in the works, producers would make Julia’s DAUGHTER the not-so-perfect prostitute this time around. Keep it all in the family, you know?

We must say though, a Pretty sequel could be the perfect comeback for original star Richard Gere. Just think what displaying some aging tubby nudity did for Alec Baldwin in It’s Complicated!
