Just devastating. Comedian Kevin Meaney has passed away at just 60 years old. The veteran jokester and actor was found dead in his Forestburgh, NY home Oct, 21. His rep tells HollywoodLife.com that, “It was confirmed to me by his family. It is a tremendous loss to the comedy community. He will be missed. I can not speculate cause at this time.”
No cause of death has been given but an autopsy is pending. He had his first big breakthrough in 1986 with an HBO comedy special and went on to be a regular guest on such shows as The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Kevin appeared in the title role of the short lived 1990 sitcom Uncle Buck and had bit parts on 30 Rock, 2 Broke Girls, and Dr. Katz.
Even his very last tweet on the night of the final presidential debate Oct. 19 was priceless. He wrote, “Some last minute advice for Hillary: Light your hair on fire! Be crazy and tell him “he’s fired” Hit him in the face with a pie!” OMG, we’re SO going to miss his sense of humor, especially as the election nears.
Comedians have come out in force to celebrate his life and his talent. They’ve taken to Twitter in droves to praise his genius and mourn his loss, with some of the business’ biggest names remembering his hilarious skills.
