Twitter and Instagram have been taken over by words of comfort and support, following the Bastille Day attack on Nice, France on July 14. Among those voices announcing ‘#PrayForNice’ are some of the world’s most well known and loved celebrities, including Amy Schumer, Katie Holmes and Shawn Mendes.
Singers, actors, and comedians all gave their condolences to the victims and survivors of the absolutely horrendous July 14 attack in France — an incident whose upsetting details are still pouring out in droves. The country was celebrating Bastille Day when a semi truck plowed through the streets of the city of Nice, killing at least 84 people and leaving 202 injured (52 in critical condition.) The truck sped down a road for two kilometers and hit people who were celebrating their country’s holiday. The driver of the truck allegedly shot off rounds into the crowd as well.
As the world hurts while the news unfolds, so do our hearts. Here are the thoughts of singer Miley Cyrus, comedian Amy Schumer, actresses Katie Holmes and Chloe Grace Mortez, and more celebrities on this devastating day.

It’s clear from their tweets and Instagram posts that our favorite celebs are hurt, outraged, sad and scared that an attack like this has happened yet again. But all we can do is stand together and lend our support in any way we can and hope that hate around the world comes to an end.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this senseless tragedy.
