The Travelers aren’t playing around. After draining the doppelgängers of liters of blood, they have enough to get that spell started — the spell that will result in a literal broken heart.
While Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) tried to find their way back to Mystic Falls, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) oddly decided to trap Markos’ (Raffi Barsoumian) into the Savatore home. But even with the help of a fellow Travelor, Markos proved it wasn’t going to be easy to stop him.

While Damon can’t stand to be in a room with Elena, he still can tell that she and Stefan are keeping a secret — and a game of Never Have I Ever is the best way to get that secret out.
You’d think that a weekend away with your exes who just happen to be brothers would be awkward, but not when it’s to protect the Travelers from kidnapping and killing you for your blood. So, after Elena (Nina Dobrev) found out that Markos (Raffi Barsoumian) was searching for her and Stefan (Paul Wesley), they went into hiding — never thinking that the secret they were keeping out actually change everything — and that Enzo’s (Michael Malarkey) death didn’t mean what they thought.

Plus, Bonnie finds out a secret about the Other Side that she’s having a really hard time keeping – and that could alter her whole life.
When Enzo (Michael Malarkey) discovers what really happened to his long-lost love Maggie, it puts Damon (Ian Somerhalder) in quite the predicament. And of course, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) are more than ready to pitch in.

While Damon couldn’t stop thinking about Elena, Elena couldn’t stop daydreaming about Stefan — and it was mutual. But contrary to what we’ve been told, it’s not because the doppelgängers are meant to be together.
With Markos (Raffi Barsoumian) in town, it was no secret that Mystic Falls would be turned upside down. While the Travelers slowly but surely began taking over the bodies of the innocent people of the town, it became a game of ‘Who can you trust?’ . . . and everyone was fooled.

Doppelgängers and Travels and witches, oh my! What happened to the days where ‘Vampire Diaries’ was all vamps? Those are no longer.
Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) woke up thinking the toughest part of their day would be getting over that morning-after-hooking-up awkwardness, but that was only the beginning. Not only did Elena have a near-death experience thanks to Liv (Penelope Mitchell), she was about to come head to head with the leader of the Travelers — meet Markos (Raffi Barsoumian).

When Elena’s away, Damon will play . . . and then when she returns, he’ll admit to her all the people he’s killed in her absence.
Poor Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev). All she wants to do is be back to her normal self, but even with Katherine gone, it doesn’t seem possible. Since Katherine had infected her with a virus that caused her to crave vampire blood, hallucinate, and get really sick, she can’t go back to normal life. In fact, she can’t even decipher between what’s real and what’s not.

After centuries of causing unthinkable pain all over the world — from Mystic Falls to the Ukraine and back — Katherine Pierce is dead. Buried. Gone. And while we’ll miss her as she rots away in Hell, her death was a necessary move for the show.
I hate to say it, but The Vampire Diaries has been… shaky… this season. It’s understandable since they’re pretty far along at Season 5, but the same ol’ Damon (Ian Somerhalder)/Elena (Nina Dobrev)/Katherine (also Nina Dobrev)/Stefan (Paul Wesley) love quadrangle drama was beginning to feel repetitive. Therefore, getting rid of a quarter of that quadrangle was an excellent idea.

Plus, when Elena wakes up, she’s nothing like the girl we used to know.After we got past the “they don’t know that we know that they know” parts of The Vampire Diaries, Stefan (Paul Wesley), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Matt (Zach Roerig) did everything in their power to lure Katherine (Nina Dobrev) into their house so that they could kill her once and for all to get Elena back. However — for the first time ever — Katherine’s more focused on saving her daughter’s life.
