Emmy Rossum (born Emmanuelle Grey Rossum in New York on September 12, 1986) is an American actress. Growing up in NYC, she performed in the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus before making her television debut. Her role in Mystic River is often considered her breakthrough performance. She also starred in The Day After Tomorrow and was praised for her role in The Phantom of the Opera. She currently plays the role of Fiona Gallagher in the hit Showtime series Shameless.

Personal Life:
Emmy married longtime boyfriend Sam Esmail on May 28, 2017. Previously, Emmy was married to music executive Justin Siegel in February 2008, but he filed for divorce in September 2009 citing irreconcilable differences. In October 2009 Emmy was reportedly dating Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz. The couple split in September 2010. In December 2010, her divorce was officially finalized. In 2011, Emmy began dating her Shameless costar Tyler Jacob Moore until they broke up in June 2013.
