Chris Stapleton

Bio:
Chris Stapleton (born Christopher Alvin Stapleton on April 15. 1978 in Lexington, Kentucky) is an American country and bluegrass musician. Chris grew up in Lexington. The son of a coal miner, Chris enrolled in Vanderbilt University in 1996, but dropped out a year later. In 2001, he moved to Nashville to pursue a music career as a songwriter. He got a job working at a publishing house, Sea Gayle Music, and worked a number of odd jobs to make ends meet. In 2008, he was the lead singer for the bluegrass band, The SteelDrivers. They were nominated for three Grammys in 2010, but Chris left the band that year. Afterwards, he formed a southern rock band called The Jompson brothers, but that too didn’t last long. In 2013, Chris signed to Mercury Nashville as a solo artist. His debut album, Traveller, was released in 2015 to positive reviews. That year, Chris was nominated for three CMA awards, including Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and New Artists of the year.

Personal Life:
Chris performed with Lady Antebellum in 2014 at the CMT Artist of the Year event. He also has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Seth Meyers. Chris is married to singer-songwriter Morgane Stapleton. They have two children together.
