Bio:
Carlos PenaVega (born Carlos Robert Pena Jr on August 15, 1989 in Columbia, Missouri) is an American actor and singer. Carlos grew up in Weston Florida, attending Sagemont Upper School where he was a cheerleader. Always interested in acting, he participated in local productions of Grease and Man of La Mancha. At age 10, he was a guest star on ER, and he followed up the role with appearances on Judging Amy and Summerland. While attending the American Heritage School, he landed a role in its production of Titanic. Carlos credits his role in Titanic for sparking his love of singing and dancing. Carlos studied musical theater at the Boston Conservatory when his manager urged him to audition for the Nickelodeon series, Big Time Rush. He submitted an audition tape in 2007 and won the role two years later. The series also spawned a boyband of the same name. Carlos sang on their albums, BTR, Elevate and 24/Seven. In 2014, Carlos began his solo career, releasing a single in Spanish titled “Electrico.” It charted in the Top 10 of the Latin iTunes singles. On Aug. 27, Carlos was announced as a contestant on the 21 st season of Dancing with the Stars. He will be partnered with Witney Carson.

Personal Life:
Carlos’s father is of Spanish and Venezuelan descent while his mother is Dominican. In 2014, Carlos presented an award at the Nickelodeon Colombia Kids’ Choice Awards in Bogota, the Colombian capital. In 2014, Carlos married actress Alexa Vega in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Upon marrying, they combined their last names and now go by PenaVega.
