Angelina Jolie (born June 14, 1975 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress and director. She is the daughter of famed actor Jon Voight and actress Marcheline Bertrand. She gained fame in her first leading role in the film Hackers (1995). She won her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the drama Girl, Interrupted (1999). She gained even more popularity by playing video game heroine Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and it’s sequel The Cradle of Life (2003). She continued becoming a lead action star with Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005) along with real-life partner Brad Pitt, and in Wanted (2008). She earned critical acclaim for her performances in A Mighty Heart (2007) and Changeling (2008), which earned her a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actress. She even went into directing with her first feature In the Land of Blood and Honey in 2011, followed by Unbroken, By the Sea and First They Killed My Father. Jolie is also known for her humanitarian work with the United Nations.

Once married to Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton, Angelina later began dating Brad Pitt. The two, famously known as “Brangelina,” got engaged in April 2012, and have 6 kids together – three biological, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne, and three adopted, Maddox, Pax and Zahara. They tied the knot on August 23, 2014 in France. On September 20, 2016, it was announced that Angelina filed for divorce from Brad, allegedly citing Brad’s parenting techniques. She reportedly asked for full custody of the kids, but asked for visitation for Brad.
