Alison Parker (from just outside Martinsville, Virginia) was a morning reporter for local news station WDBJ7 when she was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman on live television shortly before 6am on Aug. 26, 2015. Alison was working with her “partner,” cameraman Adam Ward, 27, when the horrific shooting occurred. Sadly, Adam was also killed. Alison has been described as a “radiant woman” who loved spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite hobby was white water rafting, and she loved Mexican food.

Personal Life:
Alison was dating news anchor Chris Hurst at the time of her death. Chris later revealed on Twitter that they had been dating for 9 months, were “very much in love,” and had recently moved in together before she was killed. After her death, Chris Hurst won the race for the 12th District of Virginia’s House of Delegates.

Vester Flanagan Shot Himself: In Critical Condition After Police Confrontation

The gunman who allegedly shot and killed Alison Parker and Adam Ward on live television has also allegedly shot himself. Vester Flanagan, also known as Bryce Williams, is reportedly in critical condition after allegedly shooting himself in the head as Virginia authorities were finally able to confront him.
Vester Flanagan, 41, has allegedly shot himself on Highway I66 in Virginia just hours after he allegedly fatally shot and killed reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, on live television. A third victim, Vicki Gardner, was also shot, but survived the initial attack and is now reportedly in surgery to save her life.

Two videos of the Virginia murders, taken from the perspective of the shooter, have been posted on a Twitter account under the suspect’s professional name, Bryce Williams. The videos show a man approaching Alison Parker and Adam Ward, before firing.
Warning: The below video is graphic and includes the shooting of Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, 27, of WDBJ TV Station that took place on August 26 in Moneta, Virgina. The videos were posted by a Twitter account @Bryce_Williams7 — suspect Vester Flanagan, goes by TV name of Bryce Williams. The apparent shooter shot himself, on the I-66 highway in Virginia, when approached by police.
