Katie Holmes and Emilio Vitolo Jr. have made no secret of the fact that they’re an item, and now, they’re flaunting their love on social media, too. Katie turned 42 on Dec. 18, and Emilio celebrated by posting a candid photo of them together, along with a loving message for his lady. “The most amazing, kindest, beautiful person,” he wrote, with a red heart emoji. “Every time I see your face, it makes me smile. Happy birthday!!! I love you!!”
In the photo, Katie is seated on the restaurant owner’s lap, and they’re both cracking up. Katie and Emilio were first linked at the beginning of September when they were photographed laughing on a lunch date together. Days later, they were full-on making out in public, and it was clear that they were an item. Since then, the two have basically been inseparable, with dozens of outings in New York City where they’ve been photographed holding hands, kissing and more.
Seeing Katie so be public with her love for Emilio is quite surprising, as her last relationship — with Jamie Foxx — was kept hush-hush for years. Katie and Jamie dated from 2013 until 2019, but never publicly acknowledged the romance. They also tried to keep their time together out of the public eye, although photographers did catch them packing on the PDA in Malibu in 2018.
Of course, before that, Katie was in a very high profile relationship — she was married to Tom Cruise from 2006 until 2012. Katie filed for divorce in June 2012, and has been the primary caregiver for the pair’s daughter, Suri Cruise, 14, in the years since. Suri and Katie live in New York City.
Meanwhile, Emilio was reportedly engaged to designer Rachel Emmons before getting together with Katie, according to People magazine. It’s unclear exactly when his relationship with Katie began and his engagement to Rachel ended. However, it’s definitely no secret that Emilio and Katie are hot and heavy these days!
