Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (born Ralph Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in Kannapolis, North Carolina on October 10, 1974) is a American race car driver and team owner for NASCAR. His grandfather was a car builder and his father was the famed NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt. He began his racing career in 1999, competing at Motorsport Park at the young age of 17, and he owned his first race car with his half brother, Kerry Earnhardt. He has competed in 506 races throughout his career with 20 wins and 13 poles.
