Whitney Cummings (born on September 4, 1982 in Washington, D.C.) is an American comedian and actress. Whitney grew up in Georgetown, attending St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland. Whitney worked as a model before becoming an actress, and while still in D.C., she studied at the town’s Studio Theater. After graduating magna cum laude from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, she moved to Los Angeles. Her first gigs include appearing on MTV’s Punk’d,and in a low-budget thriller, EMR. It was in 2004 that Whitney began performing stand-up. She quickly excelled at it, earning praise from Variety, who named her one of the 10 Comics To Watch in 2007. During that time, Whitney appeared on shows Last Call with Carson Daly, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and Chelsea Lately. She also performed at the Comedy Central roasts of Joan Rivers, David Hasselhoff and Donald Trump. In 2011, Whitney co-created two multi-camera, live audience sitcoms – Whitney and 2 Broke Girls. While Whitney was panned by the critics, 2 Broke Girls became a major success. Whitney launched a talk show, Love You, Mean It, on the E! network in 2012 but it was cancelled after 11 episodes. In 2016, Whitney had her first HBO comedy special, I’m Your Girlfriend.

Whitney is the first female-comedian to ever perform in Dubai and Beirut. She was nominated for a Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series at the Women’s Image Networks Awards in 2012. She has been romantically connected to Kerry Rhodes and Peter Berg.
