Tony Romo (born Antonio Ramiro Romo on April 21, 1980 in San Diego, California) is an American professional football player. Tony was born in San Diego while he father was stationed there in the US Navy. Tony and his family returned to their home in Burlington, Wisconsin, where he grew up playing baseball and football. Tony enrolled into the Eastern Illinois University to play for the NCAA Division I-AA Panthers. As a sophomore, Tony ranked high in efficiency and he won the Ohio Valley Conference Walter Payton Award. Tony entered the 2013 NFL Draft but no team picked him. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys and for the first two years of his career, Tony was at risk of being cut. He was promoted to the #2 quarterback position in 2005 before taking over in 2006. Since then, Tony has been named to the Pro Bowl four times. He was the NFC passing yards leader in 2009 and the NFC Passing Touchdown leader in 2007. He has broken many Cowboys franchise records for passing. In 2013, Tony underwent back surgery for a herniated disc. In 2014, the Cowboys ended their season with a 12-4 record and their first divisional title since 2009.

Personal Life:
Tony’s grandfather emigrated from Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico to the United States. Tony started dating Jessica Simpson in late 2007. She was spotted attending a Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game where Tony played badly, leading many to think she was a jinx. The two reportedly broke up on July 9, 2009. In 2011, Tony married Candice Crawford, the 2008 Miss Missouri USA and former Dallas television journalist. They welcomed their first son, Hawkins Crawford, in April 2012. Their second son, Rivers, was born in March 2014. On Valentine’s Day in 2017, Candice revealed that the two will be expanding their family with Romo baby number three set to arrive in August!
