David Blaine (born David Blaine White in Brooklyn, NY on April 4, 1973) is an American illusionist and magician. His first TV special, Street Magic, has been called “the best TV magic special ever done in our lifetime.” He created the idea in televised magic to turn the camera on the audience instead of the performer. He’s done 11 television stunt specials throughout his career. On November 15, 2016, his Beyond Magic special appeared on ABC, featuring a number of celebrities involved in his tricks.
Best Known For:
David Blaine is best known for his televised and public magic tricks, such a being entombed for seven days, standing in a block of frozen ice for 63 hours, being submerged underwater for seven days and nights, and starring in his own television special, “David Blaine: Real or Magic.”
Personal Life:
David Blaine has a daughter Dessa, born in 2011, with his wife Alizee Guinochet. He is also very philanthropic and has performed magic for a number of different causes. He performed for 72 hours in Times Square to raise nearly $100,000 for Haiti earthquake relief.
