Mike Huckabee (born Michael Dale Huckabee on August 24, 1955 in Hope, Arkansas) is an American talk show host, news correspondent and politician. At age 14, Mike got his first job reading the news and the weather at a radio station. He graduated high school (the first in his family to do so) before enrolling in Ouachita Baptist University. He graduated with a degree in religion and speech in 1975. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for one year before dropping out to work for televangelist James Robinson. He began his political career in 1992 by running for the Senate. Though he lost that race, in 1993, Mike won a special election for lieutenant governor. Mike was appointed governor in 1996, replacing Jim Guy Tucker who was convicted on charges of fraud and conspiracy. Mike was elected to a full term in both 1998 and 2002. In 2007, after serving his last term as governor, Mike announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President, losing to John McCain. Mike transitioned into a broadcast career, becoming the host of Huckabee, a political commentary show on Fox News. On January 3, 2015, Mike stepped down from the show. Later that year, Mike announced he would run for the Republican nomination for President in 2016. The highlight of his struggling campaign came in Dec. 2015, when he was photographed alongside a supporter who turned out to be a Las Vegas prostitute.
